HTC One M8 Google Play Edition Now Shipping, Some Built-in Apps Retained

HTC One M8 Google Play Edition units have been shipped to those who placed their order before the end of March. Google also updated their order page of the HTC One M8 Google Play Edition saying that the unit "leaves warehouse by April  15, 2014. This means that there are still stocks and you can still order now.

On the software side, HTC One M8 Google Play Edition has retained some of the HTC's apps. This edition is running Android 4.4.2 Kitkat and removes the HTC Sense 6 interface, replacing it with Google Now Launcher. HTC's Motion Launch is still installed but only with one function, swiping in any direction to wake the phone.

HTC Photo Edit is still available since the filters make use of the dual camera feature of the HTC One M8. The Dot View case funtions as well but only shows time and temperature. No email notifications and, the supposedly coolest function of the case, able to accept or reject a call without opening the case is not available.

The hardwawre is still the same as the original HTC One M8. It has quad-core 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB storage, 1080p 5-inch Super LCD3 display, Duo 4MP UltraPixel Camera, Boomsound speakers, and 2,600 mAh battery.

But still you will still enjoy the Google pureness of HTC One M8 Google Play Edition.
